Bishop Clarence Kelly

Bishop Clarence Kelly is the Founder and Spiritual Father of the Congregation of St. Pius V as well as of the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary. He was ordained to the priesthood in Econe, Switzerland, by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre on April 14, 1973. In 1984 he founded the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary, Mother of our Savior, whose Motherhouse is located in Round Top, New York. On October 19, 1993, he received episcopal consecration from Bishop Alfred Mendez, a retired Roman Catholic Bishop. In 1996 Bishop Kelly founded the Congregation of St. Pius V. Bishop Kelly's episcopal lineage can be traced back to St. Pius X. (Click here to view episcopal lineage diagram.)

Words of Most Reverend Clarence Kelly:

"The Son of God became a Man for our sake. To redeem us He died upon the cross. To re-present His bloody sacrifice of the cross in an unbloody manner, to memorialize it until the end of time and to apply its fruits, He instituted the New Testament priesthood and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It is this priesthood and this Mass that the reformers have tried to take from us. But God has not allowed them to be completely successful. I have no doubt myself that He raised up Archbishop Lefebvre to contribute to the continuation of the priesthood and the true Mass. And now by God's mercy we also are in a position to help contribute to the continuation of the priesthood and the true Mass. For this we are grateful to him and to the late Bishop Alfred Mendez who, as one priest said, took a 'most courageous step for the preservation of our holy Catholic Faith in this age of modernism.'"

Spiritual Communion by Cardinal Merry del Val

At Thy feet, O my Jesus, I prostrate myself and I offer Thee the repentance of my heart, which is humbled in its nothingness and in Thy holy presence. I adore Thee in the Sacrament of Thy love, the ineffable Eucharist. I desire to receive Thee into the poor dwelling that my heart offers Thee. While waiting for the happiness of sacramental Communion, I wish to possess Thee in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus, since I, for my part am coming to Thee. May Thy love inflame my whole being in life and in death. I believe in Thee, I hope in Thee, I love Thee. Amen.

Prayer of St. Roch

O God, who didst promise St. Roch by an angel that all who had recourse to him should have nothing to fear from pestilence and contagious maladies, grant that through his intercession we may be preserved from all dangers, both of soul and body, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Glorious St. Roch, present in our favor thy efficacious prayers to the throne of Divine Mercy, that we may not be affected by the scourge of contagion. Preserve us, by thy intercession, from the pestilence of the body; and above all, obtain for us deliverance from the more grievous maladies of the soul. Amen
